Collection: Single Zone Wine Fridges
Single zone wine fridges keep your entire collection at one consistent temperature — simple, reliable, and ideal for most households. If you mainly drink one style of wine, or you want a fridge that works perfectly without fiddling with settings, a single zone model is the straightforward choice. They're the most popular type of wine fridge sold in the UK, and for good reason.
What temperature should a single zone wine fridge be set to?
The most versatile setting for a mixed collection is 12–14°C — cool enough to slow ageing and preserve freshness, warm enough that a red is drinkable within 20–30 minutes of taking it out. If you drink predominantly white wine or sparkling, 8–10°C is a better target. For serious long-term cellaring, 11–13°C is the traditional benchmark. Most single zone fridges offer a range from around 5°C to 20°C, giving you plenty of flexibility.
Single zone vs dual zone — which is right for you?
Single zone is the better choice if you mostly drink one type of wine, you want a simpler appliance with fewer controls, your budget is tighter, or you're using the fridge primarily to store rather than serve. Dual zone becomes worth it when you regularly have both reds and whites on the go and want them at genuinely different temperatures at the same time. For most households, a single zone at 12–13°C is entirely sufficient.
What sizes are available?
Single zone wine fridges span the full range — from 7-bottle compact models that sit on a countertop to 165-bottle freestanding cabinets. The most popular single zone sizes in the UK are the 20-bottle 30cm undercounter model (fits a standard narrow kitchen gap) and the 45–52 bottle 60cm undercounter (fits a standard cabinet opening). Freestanding single zone models are typically taller and higher capacity.
Installation: undercounter, freestanding, or integrated?
Single zone fridges come in all three installation types. Undercounter and integrated models use front ventilation and can be built flush into cabinetry. Freestanding models vent from the back and sides and need clearance. Check the label before buying — fitting a freestanding model into a closed cabinet will cause it to overheat and fail.
Who are single zone wine fridges for?
They're perfect for everyday wine drinkers who want bottles ready at a consistent temperature, new wine fridge buyers who want a straightforward first model, and anyone who mainly drinks one style. All single zone models in this range include free UK delivery and a minimum 2-year manufacturer warranty.
