Collection: Undercounter Wine Fridges
Undercounter wine fridges are built to slot neatly beneath a worktop, keeping your collection at the ideal temperature without taking up any extra floor or counter space. If you're redesigning a kitchen, adding a utility room bar, or simply want wine storage that feels like it belongs rather than an afterthought, an undercounter model is almost always the right call.
What makes a good undercounter wine fridge?
The most important thing to check before buying is ventilation. Undercounter wine fridges use front-venting compressors, meaning all the heat they generate escapes through a grille at the front of the unit. This is what allows them to be installed flush into cabinetry on all three sides — unlike freestanding models, which need clearance at the back and sides. Always confirm a model is labelled built-in, undercounter, or front-venting before fitting it into a cabinet.
Beyond ventilation, look for a quiet compressor (40dB or under is ideal for open-plan kitchens), UV-protected smoked glass to shield wine from light damage, and a reversible door hinge so you can open left or right depending on how your kitchen is laid out.
Which size should you choose?
Undercounter wine fridges come in two standard widths: 30cm (slimline) and 60cm (full-width). A 30cm model typically holds 18–24 bottles and fits into the kind of narrow gap you might have next to a dishwasher or at the end of a run of units. A 60cm model holds 40–55 bottles and sits in a standard kitchen cabinet opening — the same space a regular under-counter fridge would occupy. Height is consistent across both: most are designed to sit under a standard 90cm worktop, though always check the exact cut-out dimensions.
Single zone or dual zone?
Single zone undercounter fridges keep everything at one temperature — ideal if you mainly drink one type of wine, or store a mixed collection at a general serving temperature of 12–14°C. Dual zone models have two independent compartments, so you can keep whites at 8–10°C and reds at 14–16°C simultaneously. If you regularly drink both, dual zone is worth the modest price difference.
Who are undercounter wine fridges for?
They suit anyone who wants wine storage integrated into their home rather than free-standing in a corner. They're particularly popular with kitchen renovators, apartment dwellers with limited space, and anyone who wants to keep a daily selection accessible at the right temperature without a separate wine room. All models in this range come with free UK delivery.
